This review is for the TKL02WS (Wireless PC) version. Summary: This keyboard is an incredible value. Even without the wireless capability, this would still be one of the best budget boards out there. I ordered him a cleaner wireless setup at work. Then a few months later I bought a second one for the house. In any case, I replaced a much fancier mechanical board because I appreciate wireless. If they were $100 I would probably buy them anyway. Pros: - Nice weight and construction from one of the nicer plastics. - (Relatively) minimal branding with a logo that is mostly not visible. Not the best logo, but I've seen way worse in nastier places. The switches feel quite crisp. They're about as loud as other Cherry MX Brown clones, albeit a little less clattering and scratchy than Cherry's own switches. I added some o-rings for dampening (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QXBSDJ2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and the result is significant noise reduction with just enough tactility to feel yet to feel good - USB-C charging offers the convenience of reversibility as well as confidence in the future. This board can also work in wired mode. - I'm not sure about the battery life, but I only had to charge the first board twice in two months of use. - The standard keycaps are well made and office themed. I replaced them with other sets for more customization, but there was no functional reason to do so. As far as I know, there is no other 87-key wireless mechanical keyboard with a minimalist design and brown switches. It's crazy that a random Chinese company made it first and for no less than $46! Cons: - It's very rare for a wireless connection to drop a beat. Sometimes it just skips a few keystrokes and other times the key repeats. The problem is fixed in a few seconds. If this happens more than once in a long time I would write a 3-4 star review. But to be honest, the bug is so rare that it doesn't bother me. As a side note, you should update your firmware using this jerky process for best results: (https://www.velocifiretech.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/TKL02-WS-Tech-Support-Firmware .pdf ?the7_settings_preview=true).- One of the USB-A receivers is not perfect. It is difficult to insert and remove the port. I don't really care because I rarely have a reason to. Everything else is alright. As far as I can tell, there is no Fn lock. Luckily, the shortcut keys are right next to the Fn key, so volume can be adjusted with one hand. The backlight works but is not as bright and uneven. To be fair it's an advantage to have this on a wireless board, especially at this price point, but some improvements in the next version would be welcome.
