Okay, okay. I was amazed when I saw on YouTube that a hamster can be potty trained. I've always seen little boxes/spoons in stores and on the internet, but I never thought they really worked. I bought it from Revain because it's a lot cheaper than PetSmart. I filled a small bowl/container with a few spoonfuls of sand from the sandbox (it's perfectly safe, check online if you're unsure) and about two or three tablespoons of these beads on top to pull them into place . To start, I added already soiled bedding (I use Kaytee Clean & Cozy White Small Animal Bedding). I left it alone for about two days and just checked it out about 20 minutes ago and boom! She actually uses it! I raked everything out, added a few more beads and I'm hooked. Will definitely keep buying it as it's only $2 for a decent size. Don't use the whole box! You simply add a substrate (e.g. play sand) with a few beads on it. It's a huge waste to use everything as a few scoops of these work really well. I bet this 8 ounce box will last me over a month.
