Review on Sony ICFC218 Dream Machine Clock Radio - The Ultimate Black Radio Alarm Clock by Adam Taylor

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great alarm clock with many useful functions.

This is the best alarm clock I've ever had. I liked it so much that I bought one for both of my apartments and two more for my mother's house. One for her (she loves it too) and one for me when I visit her. When switched on, the clock "knows" what time it is thanks to a long-lasting battery. You don't have to reset it after a power failure. You need to set your time zone, but then the necessary adjustments for Daylight Saving Time will be made. Be careful when using it in AZ like I did. One of my two places of residence is in Arizona and I've set it to the appropriate time zone. AZ does not know daylight saving time, so I was late for work one fall when the watch was an hour behind in the fall of the first year I bought it. Remember "Leg behind" Well, that's a lag. I was supposed to be at work by 8:00 am, only got closer to 9:00 am because the clock automatically "got an hour behind" as the rest of the country watched the return to standard time. Aside from that little feature that I now know, this watch is great. There's a button you can press to turn off the alarm when you get out of bed but leave it active the next morning. That means you'll never be late because you forgot to set your alarm the night before. It will be automatically installed for you. In fact, you can turn it off to make it work. Don't call in the morning, you have to do it manually. Otherwise, it will call every day at the set time, and you will not forget to install it. This watch has a snooze button (which I use a lot) and a sleep timer. It also has a radio with excellent reception. Reception obviously depends on where you use it. The radio is crystal clear everywhere I've used it - only the number of stations you can pick up varies by location. It's pretty much the best alarm clock I've ever had, and I probably won't change it unless Sony discontinues it. I've heard CD models sound "tinny" but radios don't. Good to listen to the radio. For alarm purposes, this is fantastic. It rings every day at the appointed time, and you won't forget to install it. This watch has a snooze button (which I use a lot) and a sleep timer. This is almost the best alarm clock I've ever had, and I probably won't change it unless Sony stops making them. I've heard that CD models are "tinny" sound, but radios don't. Good to listen to the radio. For alarm purposes, this is fantastic.
