Review on Firestone 2600 Helper Spring Kit by Jeremy Meza

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The kit was easy to install and works well with my onboard air.

I installed them on a 2017 Ford F-350 and mainly tow a camper with a 3400 lb saddle wheel. The kit was easy to install and works well with my onboard air compressor. After the installation we went on a long hike through about half the country. After my first day of riding I noticed that the bracket that goes on top of the leaf springs is no longer centered and the airbags are not aligned with the top bracket. No big deal, I loosened the supplied carriage bolts, adjusted the bottom bracket and re-tightened the bolts. For the rest of the ride I didn't notice any more problems. When I returned home, I decided to change wheels. When I removed the rear wheel I found that the lower brackets on the leaf springs were bent and the carriage bolts had stretched to the point where the heads were on the verge of breaking. I removed and straightened the bottom brackets and replaced the included carriage bolts with grade 8 bolts. After replacing the bolts there were no more issues. With the exception of the mounting screws, the kit works great and I'm happy with it. Bottom line, the only thing I see that needs improvement is that the kit comes with better mounting hardware.
