Review on Optimized Silicone Heater for Creality Printers by Bim Cook

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Definitely an upgrade of the standard sleeve and a good replacement for the old

I bought this to replace a silicone case that I ripped while replacing the nozzle on my Ender 3. I wanted to replace them asap to make sure the heater block wouldn't deform the bullseye cooling channel I installed. to my print head. The air duct was printed in ABS but I was still concerned about warping. But I didn't really feel like I needed four of these, so I was hesitant to order some at first. When I received and fitted the new sleeve, I immediately noticed how much tighter and much more secure it was than my old sleeve. . I also really appreciate that the sleeve extends a few millimeters along the nozzle. This results in far fewer filaments getting stuck in the nozzle/heater assembly, which usually results in a burned out filament ending up on your print later. I haven't had this problem with these new sleeves. I appreciated the improvement in the sleeve over the nozzle so much that I even replaced it on my Ender 5 even though it was in perfect condition. While this is a seemingly minor improvement, it really made the product work for me. I am very happy with my purchase and will order again without hesitation. Thanks very much!

Pros
  • . This is a great replacement for the easily frayed and torn kapton tape and heat resistant cotton that comes with all 3D printers. This silicone sock is much more durable and functional than typical thermal insulation solos.
Cons
