Converts to 110 inefficiently, barely overheats cells
It ended up being a travel adapter (too expensive for this use), not a converter. I took it to South Africa this week and tried to use it to power my USB charger (Device 110). Two issues: a) the converter makes a lot of noise when the device is plugged in (more than I could use when trying to sleep) and b) the USB charger got very hot after 10 minutes of use. I was so scared it would catch fire or die so I unplugged it and stopped using it. connected their devices to a portable battery. The only thing that worked was plugging my laptop into a charger (but again, a basic $10 travel converter would do). look elsewhere
