Works well. I've been running for over 25 years and have tried many ways to carry water. This is the best I've used. I hesitate to give it 5 stars because all water carriers are a bit painful. I used a standard alligator aid bottle and it held it up very well. The bottle landed on my right thigh, and while I knew it was there, it stayed fairly still with a minimal bounce. On the other side there is a zipped pocket. My iPhone X fits easily and I also tested my wife's iPhone 8+ and it fits. The bag is small 3D which is good if you still need to carry around a few things like gel or keys. Overall the build seems very good - time will tell but I expect it will hold up well. The strap can be shortened to fit better if you like. I have a 34" waist and don't see any point in cutting the belt. It is attached to the waistband with Velcro and holds very well. A few more notes. I wore this belt almost directly on the waistband of my running shorts and with a shirt underneath and it was very comfortable. I sometimes run shirtless so I tested it a little deeper to see if it rubbed against my skin. The belt had to be tightened fairly tightly, but wearing it a little lower also worked. Long-distance running can be challenging enough without the pesky water belt. This belt keeps irritation to a minimum - I recommend this belt.
