Review on Accurate Transmission Temperature Monitoring ๐ŸŒก๏ธ with AUTO METER 2640 Z-Series Electric Gauge by John Fenton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The bulb is too weak. Replace with LED.

Bought this sensor to monitor transmission temp when climbing steep mountain passes. I also had to purchase an Autometer Short Style Transmitting Unit (Part #2259) and an Autometer M10-1.0 1/8" NPT Metric Adapter (Part #2265) to make it work on my 2007 Nissan Frontier. Other brands /Models must check before purchase that the supplied transmitter fits the connector to test transmission. When installing the transmitter, be sure to use Teflon tape and do not overtighten! The supplied bulb is rather weak and only has the red or green caps, which come with it.I bought a mini wedge led bulb (bulb type T3:3-1/4) from Superbrightleds website.Pretty cheap, lasts longer, doesn't get hot and is a lot easier to replace read. I bought red, cool white and amber to test them out. The cool white was easiest to see at night. Border owners - some advice. and then use this on the new sender. I was able to fit the brake wiring harness under the dash Press en board to get a floor and 12v light. I connected the top 12v power port/cigarette lighter to switch power. 4 stars for no LED and having to buy so many items just to get the gauge working on my Nissan. The rest is an autometer. Great meter and great purchase. Can not reach quality and price.
