I have compared this Bluetooth cable/receiver to a cheap $12 Chinese receiver and would say most people would prefer the cheap Chinese version based on price alone. I'm sure only audiophiles who are willing to pay and who want the extra sound quality will be willing to pay the price. I could hear the difference and I'm sure many people will, I just don't think many people are willing to pay dearly for that extra sound quality. I hope and expect the build quality and battery life to outperform the cheaper option. Although for the asking price they really should have used USB-C (it seems cheap when it isn't) and it should have a "transparency" mode. I'm seriously considering getting the ES100 for comparison as a transparency mode would be very useful to me.
