Review on Pyle Single DIN In-Dash Car Stereo with 7” Touchscreen Display, Bluetooth, and Hands-free Calling - PLTS78DUB, BLACK by Jerome Brooks

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Reliability? My additions to my original review,

Update June 11, 2020 I just connected my seventh device. I feel like a quality controller. The motorized screen in the last half went out and half went out. So far, only the one I received on November 1, 2019 is working. Like I said, when they work, they're great. Pyle's service isn't very good, but Revane is behind you. Just don't connect it to the car and don't leave it for two months. Write it down to make sure nothing goes wrong while Revain takes over the replacement. Unit 7 is now in the RV playing a CD. I leave it on for a few hours a day. If nothing breaks then I have another similar block number 4. Update May 29, 2020. Don't hold your breath if you asked for a warranty repair. I waited two weeks and they never replied to my letter. However, I fixed this block. There is a problem with the ground. Since I like everything about them when they work I bought a spare. I want a reversing camera on my old camper. I love how this screen opens and pops up when I open the single DIN dash. And like I said, I did a lot of wiring to make it work. All the reasons I don't want to be stranded with a dead unit. The latter will be in this top paragraph. I just installed my fifth of these. The first 3 stopped reading the disc within a day or two of installing it. On 11/11/19 I finally got one that worked until 5/17/20. Then the audio started dropping out and needed a cold boot to get it working. It didn't work out in the end and I asked Pyle for an RMA which hasn't arrived yet. The guarantee should be one year. I want this 7 inch display and my dashboard only has a DIN hole. Also, I've run extensive wiring to the RV, so I need another that works. I ordered another one and hooked it up right away. and surprise, surprise that the display doesn't work. Here I am again. I've worked so hard on these things that I have a dyno to show if Pyle is on the side of the problem. It's Piles again. They're good when they work, but I had to deduct a star. I bought one of these for an old motorhome. I had to replace the dashboard and wiring harness, but everything worked great in the end. Then we watched the DVD and he died. the screen is on and my DVD is in. Nobody at Revain has found a solution to this problem. I bought a second one and it worked great for a couple of weeks. Now it first says it reads the inserted disc and then it says there is no disc. I've tried several music discs and DVDs and it won't read anything. So I ordered a third. I hope the third time charm. Number 3 wasn't a spell. As with #2, it stopped reading the disc. Right now I'm using #4 and it might be good in two weeks. When I received it, the first thing I noticed was the different packaging. This gave me hope that this is a new generation and there are no more bad blocks. I really like them (when they work). Here's another update. The 4th radio tape recorder has been working for about 7 weeks. None of the first 3 lasted more than a few weeks, so maybe Pyle got rid of the bugs. It's installed in the RV's winter parking lot, but I usually turn it on for a few hours a day. If it's still working without problems, I highly recommend this very good system with a long list of features.

Pros
  • Test for one year
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
