My Retina Macbook Pro Dock running Linux

I got a 15 inch Macbook Pro Retna at work and needed it to support dual display monitors and gigabit ethernet. With Gnome Ubuntu (3.10/13.10) this device works great as a docking station for my external USB sound card, keyboard, mouse and wired ethernet connection. The only downside that exists so far is that when I have the hub's power supply plugged in, I sometimes have to turn off the hub completely (disconnect both the connection to the computer and power to the hub) for my computer to recognize the ethernet connection . It's trivial, only happens occasionally and doesn't really bother me. However, deducting 1 star for the occasional inconvenience. If you're having trouble getting ethernet to work on Linux, try making a new wired connection and cloning the MAC address at the bottom of the hub. ue when moving a hung laptop between them (MAC in the same place). For this reason, it is ideal as a docking station.
