Review on Nikon 50mm f/1.8D Lens: Perfect for Nikon DSLR Cameras! by Chong Fred ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The purchase brought only positive emotions.

This is the second "fifty dollars" that passed through my hands. the first was a "Chinese" . I almost got disappointed . I spat and swore at what the world was worth . no sharpness, no focus . all dangling, although it was still new (less than 2 years old). In the ads I came across the same, advanced age, but "Japanese". The very first five or ten test shots and I fell in love with it . I didn’t notice a big difference in image sharpness compared to 18-105. Just beautiful bokeh in portrait shooting and a large aperture .

Pros
  • Lightweight, good design, beautiful pattern, nice bokeh. Sharp somewhere from aperture 2.2. Great portrait lens. Good autofocus (works for me on the D-90) Perfectly enough aperture for shooting indoors in the evening, with relatively low light. Super-glass for its price. I bought it from my hands for 4500.
Cons
  • Aperture 1.8 working with a big stretch. On it, the pictures are a little soapy. Too "soft" . although, when shooting portraits, this cannot be called a disadvantage. Perfectly masks irregularities and skin defects. 50 mm (on a 75 crop) create little problems when shooting in a limited space (for example, a small room). But, these are not even shortcomings, but probably just design features.

An excellent choice for the first fix, since the moment of purchase I have not parted with it yet.
