This was the perfect repair for my LG LMVH1711 microwave oven. The turntable didn't move and the magnetron didn't fire microwaves. It was pretty easy to do! I needed help disassembling/reinstalling the microwave itself, but it was easy enough to undo the case screws to gain access to the innards. On my LG microwave, a defective upper micro switch was the cause of this problem. This can be checked with a simple continuity test by opening and closing the microwave oven door. It is slightly slanted. Long needle nose pliers and a long standard screwdriver will come in handy to disconnect the wire harness and loosen the old micro switch. The new one is pretty easy to install. Reconnect the wires and replace the case cover and screws. Oh yeah! Be sure to remove the silver metal tab on top of the microwave case for the power plug before completely removing the case. It's just a screw. Take your time and you will be fine. If you're nervous, take a picture with your phone as you go for reference! And remember that the cylindrical capacitor is probably still charging, so stay away from it ⚡️
