Honest review of old school roadies

Roadies for more decades than I care to admit. Most of my bottles are 10-20 years old and really need to be replaced. This bottle had good reviews so I bought it. After one use I can say I won't be buying a dozen of these which was my plan. It's all about the lid. Yes, it prevents spills, but the valve design is the last thing you want when you're going to be outputting more than 300 watts for 20 minutes, your IQ is a quarter of normal, and you're trying to figure out whether or not the bridge is going to break . The main problem: there is no way to use the teeth to hold the bottle. When I rotate the bottles from the front to the back cage, I need to be able to hold the empty bottle in my mouth for a second. You can not. you drop it The traditional valve has a large knurl at the top. This one has knurling, but it's about 1/3 the width you want. Another issue is that you can't tell if it's open or closed by putting this thing in your mouth. You have to try to pull with your teeth and can't really tell *yet* until you throw the thing back and squeeze. I don't remember if I left it open or closed. I need to know the moment when it's in my mouth. And of course don't make me look at it. There is a strange current here. It either shoots too hard when you squeeze it and you almost choke on water, or so much comes out immediately when you suck it that you stop and end up half air, half water. Never thought I'd write a review. for a water bottle. They're all the same, aren't they? no Lids that are over 30 years old still work. Not this one. I added a start to my one star sentiment because the lid really does feel remarkably airtight. If such things are important to you.
