Company illustrations show cylinder valve is removed by turning clockwise (see arrows on product images). That does not work. If you look closely at the bottom of the valve you will see that the tabs are rounded on one side. If you turn the valve counter-clockwise, the tabs slide under the cap and you can remove the valve (firm first time, easier second time). Youtube and the company website do not say/show this. Now that I can remove the valve I love this bottle. This is a good basic bike…

Much easier to fit into bike bottle cages! Very important!

I bought a few of these bottles to replace my aging Thermos Intak bottles. Thermoses are great, but I found them more difficult to clean and never fit in my bottle holders. I used Polar bottles on a trip yesterday and find them to be much easier to get in and out of the cages, much easier to drink while cycling and the lids are much easier to open and close. I'll update the review once I figure out how to clean up and if it's easier or harder with these Thermos Intak bottles. The polar ones…

A few cons Cycling

Bought to use on my MTB as my frame needs a slanted bottom bottle so it doesn't rub against the seat tube (Tallboy 3). Two problems with this bottle: 1) The opening is very wide. Unlike the standard pop top bottle, this one has a recess about 1/2 inch deep and 1/2 inch wide or so. This means that on an MTB trail you pick up dirt and sand throughout your ride. 2) Bottle cage grip area too low. Every other bottle I have sits at the bottom of the bottle holder. For some reason the tapered portion…

Beautiful bottle but bottle design fell off immediately

Let me start by saying that I didn't buy this bottle because of the wave pattern printed on it. However, when I tore off the price sticker, part of it came right out of the box. Soap by hand, also with a sponge, before first use. Well, the wavy design kept falling off my hand. I said "forget it" and just scraped off the leftovers. Also great bottle. That's what really matters. Fits perfectly in the bottle cage on my bike. Light. The valve on the nozzle works well, letting water flow out when…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Honest review of old school roadies

Roadies for more decades than I care to admit. Most of my bottles are 10-20 years old and really need to be replaced. This bottle had good reviews so I bought it. After one use I can say I won't be buying a dozen of these which was my plan. It's all about the lid. Yes, it prevents spills, but the valve design is the last thing you want when you're going to be outputting more than 300 watts for 20 minutes, your IQ is a quarter of normal, and you're trying to figure out whether or not the bridge…

Pros
  • Quality construction
