Review on πŸ”Œ Cuisinart JK-17 Stainless Steel Cordless Electric Kettle, 1.7 Liter by Kevin Hawkins

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Does what it's supposed to do but with some flaws

Bought to replace an old Braun kettle that was leaking from the water level window. Pros: The lid stays attached so it's easy to open and fill. Our old one had a quarter turn removable cap, which could be finicky. The water volume of 1.7 liters is good. Looks good. Cuisinart is (hopefully) a reliable brand; I chose them based on a brilliant recommendation from a more expensive model of the same kettle. Problems: Hard to see the water level when holding/filling it as it's on the case under the handle. The body gets HOT when the water is hot (our old one's plastic body seemed to make the kettle a little less heat conductive) so it needs to be handled with care. The shape of the handle is also inconvenient when the kettle is full. Finally, it seems to take longer to heat up than our old one, but that may be due to the larger amount of water.
