Review on Sony BDP S6500 Upgraded Multi Region Blu Ray by Kevin Williams

I live in Europe and need a region independent Blu-ray and DVD player and Sony is doing a great job! Easy installation, great picture and sound. Manual region selection for Blu-ray via colored buttons on the remote control and fully automatic region selection for DVDs. The player comes with a US AC adapter which I had to replace. I already had the right one, so it wasn't a problem. There are two options, either you need a US outlet adapter to the type used in your country, or you can buy a new power supply like I did, but be careful, it must have enough wattage and the right voltage. I used 12V with a maximum current of 1.5A and paid attention to the correct polarity, on mine it was + in the middle. To stay updated! Getting it wrong can damage the player and void your warranty. The player is very small and light, but it's a Sony, so I'm sure the quality is good, but Blu-ray discs spin at high speed, so the player vibrates and makes noise. I put the player on three small soft rubber feet made for compact bookshelf speakers and it made a world of difference! Five stars if it were heavier and quieter. A very good product though, I recommend the Sony BDP-S6500!
