Review on Thermaltake Pacific Lengths V Tubler CL W065 PL16TR by George Bell

V-Tubler Pro results at a great price.

I've been using TT V-Tubler PETG for a few years now. It definitely hits the right spot for a bargain value. It is easy to use, reliable and offers good visual clarity when handled correctly. I have used many different tubes over the last 4 years but I keep coming back to this tube for my 16mm builds. I have never had pipe ruptures and have never been able to endure uncontrolled thermal stresses such as 100°C GPU temperatures from pump failure and/or operator error. I use a pipe cutter for this and it works every time. Unlike acrylic, this leaves a clean cut that really only takes a few seconds of sanding to be ready for installation. In the past, when everyone used soft tubing, there were only a few tubing sizes to choose from: 1/2 OD, 5/8 OD, 3/4 OD. Now there is a hard line everywhere, some metrics some not, leading to proprietary standards. This is why companies say "For use with Class X fittings only!" 16mm for one company, not 16mm for other companies. However, I found this tubing to be very versatile, I have used about half a dozen different compression fittings with the V-Tubler. None of these were Thermaltake fittings. From time to time I had to heat the pipe ends a bit for the correct assembly, but it works. Melts well, bends well! Now for the bad news, this material scratches and smudges easily. I keep it fully wrapped in plastic until I cut it, and then I put it in kid gloves. Like most plastic tubing, it will become soiled with colored dyes and cloudy after a single use, so be prepared to throw it away when you empty the loop. A pack of 500mm is good for a medium full tower hinge, but I think it's better to buy 1000mm. Why don't they offer 14mm hoses? It confuses me, I don't understand.
