Product works well but as mentioned in several reviews the main plumbing is plastic. I installed it as is but would like to replace it first as recommended. Not because it's leaking, but to make sure personally that it won't crack or leak in the future. Unfortunately, once the pieces are connected to the plastic water lines, you may need to cut the plastic water line to remove them. It's not really a big deal as long as the waterline is short. (Unlikely in most situations). Either way, the taste of chlorine is removed from the water so the filter works as it should. You just have to remind the kids to put the control knob back to the "Bypass" position (far right) so that the filter consumption is not wasted when washing dishes.
