Huge waste of time in the fuel system
I bought this because the OEM pumps were out of stock. I spent a lot of time removing the water pump straps and hoses to get to the fuel pump itself only to put everything back together and that pump didn't work at all. I replaced the Carter fuel pump and it works perfectly. I left that POS in place and rerouted the hard fuel lines.
- Boat fuel pumps deliver fuel from the gas tank directly to each engine cylinder. To ensure good combustion and a quick start, this operation is carried out under high pressure. Over time, your Mercruiser fuel pump may wear out and require replacement.
