Review on ๐Ÿšด Dumonde Tech Bicycle Chain Lubricant: The Original Solution for Enhanced Performance by Mike Wallace

Holy mackerel. this stuff is amazing!

I am a longtime cyclist and have used countless chain lubrication products and strategies over the decades. I currently ride 90% off-road in difficult conditions. Early fall is the season for desert dust and dusty gravel in the Sierra Nevada, which will coat you and everything you ride in chain-eating dust that makes your chain squeak loudly and negatively affects your shifting. โ€” Winter is snow, cold and sand/salt on the roads. My other lubes (spray or drop by drop) I could only get from "less than one ride" (a type of dry lube) before "chain squeak" starts and shifting suffers, up to a maximum of 3 days with Teflon lubes . I ride under the same conditions. I'm now 2 weeks in with just the original lube application and my shifting is still excellent, there is no chain noise and my bike and clothes were covered with the chain. eats dust, i ref. So this stuff works! My drivetrain is a 2x10 Shimano that's 6 months old so it's showing some wear, but this lube has brought it back to "brand new" shifting that's quiet, fast, and reliable. Since my gearbox has already been heavily used, although I have kept the gearbox clean, serviced and lubricated (I did not quite follow the "instructions" on the bottle given by others checking this) although I do would use recommended approach if gearbox were new). I just use soap and water from a low pressure hose to clean the chain/gear as usual. Dried it out and rubbed it through a used rag which I use on the gearbox to apply a light coat of oil to prevent rust. The next morning I got out, stepped back, liberally applied this lube and wiped off the excess lube. I let it sit overnight and then once again wiped the chain and road wheels through a fresh, clean rag to remove excess lube. I could already say that only thanks to this process there was less friction in the gearbox. 5 hour drive through the dusty desert. and I was amazed at the difference in gear noise and shifting. After the ride, I took a quick look at the smooth and perfectly running gearbox and saw a dust buildup on the sides of the chain. Then I simply rinsed the bike with water, dried it and used the same rag to wipe off any excess oil from the chain and wheels. Over the next two weeks, as there were many more dusty rides to come, I repeated the water flush. Just rinse off, dry the bike, wipe the chain and derailleur pulleys and just ride. I'm waiting for it to start creaking. So far I've ridden over 200 miles off-road in dusty conditions and still apply the original lube with no squeaks or shift degradation. I know that the instructions on the lube package (and on their website) say "you'll hear the chain" until you reapply the lube, so I'll do it, but at the same time, I'm wondering how long I'll last with the original application can endure these difficult conditions. Of course your mileage may vary but I am a happy camper with this product!
