Review on ⚡ HDMI to DisplayPort Adapter by Cable Matters with 4K Video Resolution Support - Enhanced SEO by Ronald Orear

Works great for computers and accessories

Unlike DisplayPort to HDMI conversion products, HDMI to DisplayPort conversion products (e.g. HDMI output on your computer to DisplayPort input on your monitor) are heavier to find and usually a lot more expensive than It not only crosses some wires in the cable, it actually requires some electronics. I chose this particular brand (Cable Matters) simply because it was the cheapest and had good reviews. It works exactly as advertised. I connected the device to the HDMI out port on the back of the computer and connected a DisplayPort cable between the device and the DisplayPort in port on the back of the monitor. The device also has a USB socket and the device description on Revain says "The USB cable can be connected to USB power" so I plugged it into the USB port on the back of my computer to power it to supply. Most likely, it needs some power to power the device's electronics, and the small amount of power coming out of the HDMI port may not be enough to do that. If you don't want to waste any of your computer's USB ports, you can plug it into a USB power adapter (i.e. the way you plug your cellphone in for charging) either directly or with a USB extension cable. I booted up my computer and everything worked. There is no setting or anything like that. After a while I got curious if I really needed to keep it plugged into a USB port for extra power, so I decided to unplug it from the USB port to see what happens. Well, it still worked fine, so at least in my case it didn't take any extra power for my computer. If you need a device like this to go from HDMI to DisplayPort it's probably one of the cheapest you'll find and as I said it works great so there's no reason to spend more.
