Review on Redragon K617 Fizz 60% Wired RGB Gaming Keyboard: Compact Mechanical Keyboard with White and Grey Keycaps, Linear Red Switch, Pro Driver/Software Supported by Aaron Collins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent compact keyboard for the money

The Redragon K617 makes a great budget keyboard. It costs significantly less than many similar 60%-style mechanical boards, yet all the key features are present, including hot-swappable switches, per-key RGB lighting, and additional customization software. K617 is great for printing thanks to Redragon. own red circuit breakers. The keys have very smooth travel with quick rebound and the board feels solid despite the plastic construction. The keyboard comes with a good range of accessories, including a 5-inch USB A-to-C cable, four spare switches (3-pin MX-style connector), and key/switch pulling tools. The K617's RGB backlighting is great for a budget keyboard. A wide range of preset modes are built-in and most of them can be adjusted in terms of speed/brightness/color. Tip: Download the manual from the Redragon website as the original printed version does not describe the color selection steps correctly. Fully customizable per-key RGB lighting is available with optional software (small 4MB package) that also offers key remapping and macro capabilities. Main tasks. For example, I might want to set the "Fn-P" key combination to play/pause my media player, but the Redragon software only allows you to remap the basic "P" key, not its "Fn-P" variant. Since there are only 61 keys on this board, I would prefer to use the Fn key instead of remapping one of the basic keys. Overall, I'm impressed with the K617's responsiveness, near-complete feature set, and very affordable price point. The 60% format takes a bit of getting used to and the ability to set your own Fn key bindings would help with that, but other than that I have no complaints. All in all I would rate this 4.5 stars, which rounds up to five for value.
