We bought them again when my son grew a foot because the velcro is good and he likes to pull them tight. Other Velcro shoes we've tried in the past never tightened as much as he would like, and when it did, only a small portion of the Velcro was still in contact. The Velcro straps on these shoes are long and strong. Now he has nothing to complain about and he can do it himself! They also lasted longer than most of his shoes in the past. We usually have to buy a new pair because they wear out, but they were still good even after he outgrew the first pair.
