Review on LEDENET 5M Double Row 600LEDs SMD 5050 LED Flexible Strip Lighting - DC 12V Cold Cool White Waterproof - Ideal for Outdoor Use by Anthony Cornelius

The non-waterproof version has terrible adhesive backing and the wrong color temperature.

I ordered a roll of the waterproof version to illuminate the closet about a year ago and everything has met my expectations. When it came time to upgrade my computer monitors, I bought another roll to use as offset, but this time I chose the non-waterproof version as it was $2 cheaper and already had an adhesive backing. I think I made the wrong decision. After spending several hours cutting everything to size, soldering wires to connect strip sections together, etc., I prepped the back of the monitor by rubbing it with rubbing alcohol to ensure the glue had its best chance has to stick. In less than two hours the strips were already on my floor, the glue was not good. I had to remove the monitors from the wall mounts and use the VHB, just a few square inches was enough to hold them compared to the total area of the strips themselves. The second problem I didn't notice until I could see the light was on at night. The color temperature on non-waterproof strips isn't even remotely waterproof. My guess is that this stripe is in the 4500K to 5000K range, compared to the 6000K for waterproof strips, making them more yellow. This can even be seen in actual photos on Amazon. If you switch between waterproof and non-waterproof options, you can see that the waterproof ones look a lot bluer since they're closer to that 6000k range. It's not mentioned anywhere in the description, it clearly says "cool cool" and "6000k" for both versions. If I had known that before buying, I would have simply spent a few euros more for a waterproof version. That way I would at least have the right lights and not have to redo the job because of the horrible adhesive backing.
