This is my second Meike lens - my first was a Pancake 28mm f/2.8. I use both on NEX-5R. I tried this lens based on my experience with an excellent 28/2.8. I wouldn't have minded anything wider, but I wanted something faster. The beauty of this lens is that it has the same field of view and depth of field as a 50mm f/2 at full frame, which is decent for a crop sensor. The build quality and ergonomics of the lens are good. The aperture ring doesn't click, which is a downside for me, but some people like it, mostly for video work. The clicking aperture ring is the only ergonomic change I would like to see in this lens. The lens has an edge-to-edge sharpness of f/2.8, which is excellent. Wide open the lens is quite sharp and has less optical aberration than almost all cheap 50mm f/1.8 lenses, old and modern. nice choice! I would definitely use it for f/1.4 in place of an adapted 35mm f/2 lens. It will be smaller and sharper than almost all of them.
