After the firmware upgrade, autofocus began to work quickly and clearly, even the very cool Eye-AF and Lock-on AF. When focusing over a wide zone, the front focus is consistently small, but when choosing the central zone, everything is accurate. In general, the picture quality is good. It is, how to say it - just good, without any special emotions. Bokeh is blurred well, sharpness and contrast are reduced on an open hole, especially at the edge of the frame, which is good for portraits. Although, nevertheless, 1.8 is not 1.4, and even more so not 1.2, the difference in depth of field is a whole step (and from 1.2 - one and a half steps). But I also have Samyang 85/1.4 for shooting with very shallow depth and creamy softness, so. ok. The stabilizer is of course good, but because. Since the specifics of this lens, as I understand it, are mainly portraits, its presence is hardly justified, from my point of view. For shooting in low light, again, instead of a stub, it would be much preferable to make a larger hole. Although the stub is useful in amateur video, it is. However, if you shoot creative video with different focus manipulations, this lens is most likely not for you. The focus ring is electronic, and in order to move the focus from infinity to a close object, you need to make about THREE FULL turns. Which, of course, is impossible. Why this had to be done is completely incomprehensible to me personally. In short, MF is here only for autofocus adjustment. In the video - somehow squirm with autofocus (it's fast and mostly accurate, but still "walks"), well, or shoot with a normal MF lens. Fortunately, you can now find excellent old Canon FD / FL lenses at delicious prices. Summary: a good lens for those who use only autofocus, incl. in video, and who doesn't need razor-thin depth of field. One star was removed for an unusable focusing ring and a 1.8 hole.
