Review on πŸ“Έ CN-126 LED Video Light by Neewer for Camera or Digital Video Camcorder by Elder Unogu

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very bright light

I have had two Newwer 160 LED lamps for a number of years, which I use to photograph small objects and occasionally to fill in large light sources. The 216 LED can handle smaller items and is definitely a decent fill light. Better than 160. For reference, this flashlight has the same physical dimensions as 160. Worth a few bucks more in my opinion. The reason for the 4 star rating is the way the Sony batteries are attached to the light and the back. which I suspect should hold the battery in place. When using larger Sony batteries that fit into a dedicated hole on the back panel, the weight of the battery will shift the back panel while driving as the battery slips out of place. I've seen other lower powered flashlights that use a spring loaded latch to keep the battery safe with a strong spring and secure latch. Simply press the latch and the battery can be removed. It remains secured until the latch is pressed. The only reason this device didn't get 3 stars instead of 4 is because of the brightness. What gets it 3 stars for me are the plastic "prongs" used to hold it in place as the light moves up and down and the small screws holding the plastic base on hold light. Plastic teeth wear out over time. The weight of the flashlight is more than the small screws and plastic tines can withstand in the long run. This means their lifespan can be significantly increased by using metal teeth and larger nuts/bolts that hold plastic to metal. At the same time, I understand that the cost compensates for the reduction in lifespan, as is sometimes the case with the development of technology. The size and weight of this lamp are due to heat dissipation. This is a big key to how bright it is. LED panels that only have one air outlet are also an indication of the performance of their LEDs.
