They have worked great for my purpose of installing satellite speakers as part of my ceiling surround sound mount. I routed the wires through the attic and routed them through the holes where each speaker was supposed to go. When connecting I slipped one of these over each speaker wire to the ceiling and used a keyhole saw to slowly widen the rough hole in the ceiling until it was tight. I applied some caulk to the side facing the ceiling, pressed it into the wall, peeled off the excess caulk and stuck masking tape on top for a couple of hours until the caulk set. The speakers now look great and the wire is coming out of that connection instead of the ugly black hole. Well worth the price - be patient, use a sealer and this is a great product for the purpose. Be mindful of the size though - I embedded insulated 14g speaker wire in the wall and it's fine for this size. For bare/larger cable, you need the smaller size.
