Airless Paint Sprayers. I have tried 3 different previous products. One had such a heavy tank that the arm got tired after a few minutes, another had such a small tank that it was barely possible to spray 5 minutes between refills and all 3 were between mediocre and poor finishes. My heart sank when I saw the many instructions that came with this tool, but it turns out they were written to describe all the little things you need to do to set it up, take it apart, too clean and for the long haul. It's actually easy to set up, use and break down. I've tried it with different paints and it's certainly given great results painting fences, outdoor cement paint on a concrete wall, and latex emulsion paint on interior wood paneling. Here are some great features. No need to fill or dump anything, paint is used straight from a 5 gallon or 1 gallon can/drum.2. It has a long pressure hose, so you don't have to move the tool and paint tank frequently.3. The nozzle can be adjusted horizontally or vertically, allowing you to drag up and down or side to side, whichever is best for the situation.4. One of the best features is the position of the nozzle tube. The spray nozzle is on a vertical round tube with an arrow at the top. If you ever get a clog, simply twist the arrow in the opposite direction, point to an unimportant spot and pull the trigger once, and the paint will be pushed the wrong way through the nozzle, clearing the clog. This ensures very fast processing and very few stops. I should add that the pump already has a strainer on the inlet hose and the gun has a micro filter pre-nozzle, but it's still a fantastic feature that puts this tool ahead of the competition. Filling is easy and the pump only runs when capacity is needed, reducing pump noise and wear.6. All this is very easy to disassemble for cleaning.7. It's pretty sparse with color. This is the only tool I've used that gives good coverage and gets square feet on color labels with very little overspray and dust.8. It's fast. A 10-12 inch fan lets you paint very large areas quickly, and since it's airless, it won't be greatly affected by light outdoor winds. The only reason I'm taking off a star is the amount of paint it takes to attach and remove. With a 20ft hose, large gun, suction tube and pump, it probably wastes about a half pint each time you use it. You must take this into account. You can pour the paint from the tubes back into the can, but that requires a lot of cleaning. However, I found this tool to be fantastic, fast, easy to use and does a good job. I am very happy with it and would recommend it to others for medium to large size indoor and outdoor work.
