I have read the reviews and taken all precautions for this listed type of connector. I removed the cover from the LED strip, made neat cuts in the light strip, etc. I had a set of strips connected to the wire included in this kit. The tip through the light strip is not always aligned with the center of the pins on the 10mm wide light strip. However, most of them touched part of the contact and worked. I had to strip the wire because the blades that had to go through the insulation didn't always make good contact. Overall good but not great
