I have naturally curly hair. It is prone to drought and the vibrant color requires significant maintenance. Many of the protein or moisturizing treatments I use use heat while waiting for the best results. The same goes for the color refresher I use. Sometimes I can dry it with a hair dryer, but honestly it's a lot of work. This heating cap intrigued me as a simplified solution to this puzzle, so I was excited to try it. I was amazed at the difference in performance of my color refresher product after putting it under this cap. So much more alive! I really wanted to see the change so I straightened my hair to make the color more visible. And wow! I use Keracolor Clenditioner about every three washes and it has NEVER looked so good! To be honest my color looked like I just got out of the salon even though it had been about a month since my last color at the salon. I think heat is really important! I've had equally great results with both protein and deep hydration. I use high quality hair products and equipping them with this thermal cap really only improves the result a few notches. Really fantastic. This hat gets REALLY warm. Even at low settings. The photos in the listing show someone pulling a hat over a plastic shower cap, but once I felt how hot it was I got a little nervous. So I used a plastic shower cap wrapped in a towel and then put on a thermal hood. I use it for about 10 minutes each time. I've had to experiment with the optimal temperature for each product, but it's nice to have some flexibility. However, be aware that this thing gets really hot. Overall I am delighted with this item. It's convenient to use, easy to clean, and appears to be quite durable. It's a reasonable price ($18.99 as of the date of this review). And the results speak for themselves. Highly recommended.
