For studying or lounging, they work.

I bought them for a friend's training. After some practice, the whole idea of how to force-pick bites clicked on him, and now he's using sticks without a mount. So definitely a good learning/practice tool. Or, if you're just being lazy, the chopsticks work well and stay together when placed in the holder so you can eat with them just like that.
