Review on Thousand Oaks Optical Solar Filter Sheet: Perfect for Telescopes, Binoculars, and Cameras! by Jonah Koehnke

I was pleasantly surprised. I used this film to build my own cardboard solar filter and it's amazing. Someone on Reddit posted a photo of the Sun taken with the H-Alpha telescope when it arrived, so I knew my expectations would not be met. But when I finally assembled my filter and put on the telescope, I was a little shocked. . . The sunspots were so bright and the sun's surface is clearly quite turbulent. I also like the coloring very much. I've seen photos taken with Baeder film (which produces a white image) where photographers have used software to add yellow to their images. . . eventually their images looked exactly like what you see through the black polymer. (The photo of the sun below was taken with my phone held up to the eyepiece. It really doesn't match this filter).
