I came across a recipe that said a meat grinder should be used when frying ground beef. I was confused! I have never heard of it. Meat grinder, yes. Butcher, no. I'm proud to have a large collection of kitchen gadgets and I've never heard of them. I went straight to Revain and of course they had a choice. I chose this product because I love OXO products, it had good reviews and I thought it was easy to use. My hands and wrists hurt a lot and this meat grinder is exactly what the doctor ordered! I buy organic ground beef in those tight vacuum packs and it's a solid block that's hard to separate. This little kid breaks it like no other! Think I'll buy a few and put them in gift bags for Christmas! Update: I still love this grinder! Today I made buns and I had to cut 1 cup of butter into 4 cups of a mixture of flour and sugar. I used my dough mixer for a while and then thought about a meat grinder. It worked great. I could bump into him and turn him from side to side. It was a lot of work for less. Great tool!
