I saw this recommendation on one of the real cooking shows many years ago so I bought two of these. That was over 20 years ago and they did very, very well. I bought four more, two for me and two for my mother-in-law. I've tried some others, with wooden handles (very bad idea!), other shapes, other styles of handles. None of them work properly, they either fall apart or don't fold properly. This model works great! and they do what they have to do. Help maintain the cooking under the pot and make it easier to control the heat under the eggs, whatever you need. Andy, they hold pots of almost any size stable. Work on gas or electric stoves, but not on induction hobs, as these can scratch the ceramic hob. But nothing in the world can replace the utility of these gas stove flame tamers!
