This is a stable router, but the user interface stinks (and I'm good), the features are user-centric to an external management server, and the reach of this unit is pathetic. Additionally, the router's internal certificate has expired and nothing I can find or have tried fixes it, you can't use the Cisco router management app, and online support is limited to the manual. So if you really need a usable router, you shouldn't buy this semi-finished product. It's unbelievable that Cisco discontinued their other routers and listed this one as a replacement. Maybe they should buy back Linksys from Belkin and regain the knowledge of what customers really need, and they could also learn how to write router management software again. To be honest I have been using this router for several months and after learning I can use it. quirks. But the sad thing is that I need more access points because this device has a VERY weak signal strength even compared to almost every Wi-Fi router. Also, I quickly learned that the lease time shouldn't be longer than 480 minutes, otherwise the clients would be blocked until the router rebooted or the lease was forcibly reset. Oh, and I haven't been able to get the remote management feature to work for this thing, so clients have to manually reboot the router when I'm not around to fix it. Another reason not to buy this router. Update: I am removing this router from my network and going back to using an ASUS router. I replaced ASUS because the wireless transmitter started overheating after years of continuous use. I thought I would try Cisco because of their reputation. Big mistake. At least with ASUS, I have a strong signal AND I have the option of using ASUS or Merlin firmware, both of which are much more user-friendly, easier to set up, and have a lot more built-in user management features than what comes in that one Cisco device.
