Review on Ultimate Precision: MATTSTONE HILL 9 Inch Chef Knife - Professional Grade German Steel and Stainless Steel Handle by Derrick Milkie

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Super sharp, easy to hold, easy to sanitize

I love to cook and am always looking for new and better products for my hobby. I have a variety of chef's knives from different manufacturers, but I'm always willing to try a different one to see if I find a new favorite. There are two things about this knife that set it apart from others I've owned: it's a 9-inch knife, making the cutting surface longer than most other knives, and the handle is all steel, not with one Wooden support or a handle, which makes it a bit difficult to clean the knife properly. Based on my experience with other knives, this is an exceptional product. The knife is well balanced and feels good in the hand. I have carpal tunnel problems so finding a knife that I can use for a long period of time without pain is not an easy task and this knife fills that need very well. The blade of the knife is exceptionally sharp, allowing you to quickly cut anything from hard nuts to tomatoes or mushrooms. The blade is thick and feels solid. Other knives I've tried have blades that feel a bit flexible and less durable. Although I haven't sharpened the knife yet, it should be very easy to sharpen and seems to retain its sharpness with no problems. Since I use chef's knives for different purposes, it is important to me that I can properly clean and disinfect a knife. and this is a pen. For disinfection purposes, a porous wooden handle is a bacteria collector unless exposed to harsh chemicals or high temperatures. Both will damage the handle. Since it's stainless steel, this isn't a problem. Out of about 20 chef's knives that I own, this one became an instant favorite. It's not the most expensive (nor the cheapest), but overall it's the best knife in my collection. I would order it again or recommend it at any time.
