Review on ๐Ÿšฒ Topeak Pressure-Rite Schrader Valve Adapter: Simplifying Bike Tire Inflation by Eddie Fowler

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not for car tires in Shop Tools

I use a portable air pump with a clip-on connector to keep my car tires inflated. The clip-on is almost useless: it's difficult to put on the tire's schrader valve and very difficult to remove from the schrader. So I tried Topeak. I leave the male end of the Topeak plugged into the clamp connector (okay). But then I have to screw the female end to the Schrader. This requires a few twists with your fingertips. A woman's collar twists (good), but since the threads are thin, they are easy to tie or tie; it's a slow, tedious process. Then, when I think it's stuck and turn on the pump, the pressure gauge immediately reads the maximum reading, indicating I didn't push it far enough to open the Schrader check valve and inflate the tire. Then I have to turn it back a few turns and tighten it again. My fingertips hurt, I have to keep wiggling and twisting to get the collar to spin and trying the pump again until I get the topeak set properly. Topeak is probably an essential tool for devices that provide difficult access to the Schrader valve (e.g. bicycle fork). However, this is too cumbersome for weekly car tire pressure checks.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Useless Functions
