We bought the smallest size (toddler size 8) for our 3 year old son and it fits perfectly. He usually wears children's shoe size 7/8. They're pretty light so he doesn't complain when they wear him. In fact, he prefers not to take them off even when he's not on the soccer field. They have laces that need to be tied, but they sit securely under the top flap so they don't come loose or dangle as you run. The rubber spikes on the bottom are also strong; However he is not an aggressive player at only 3 years old so I can't confirm how they would handle a more active player. But this shoe is great for our situation. They are also very stylish and have a smooth vinyl surface so water will bead off them.
