Review on Office Star Black Managers Chair: Breathable Back, Bonded Leather Seat, Flip Arms & Silver Coated Accents by Chris Edgerton

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Excellent chair with a small blemish

Assembly: Should take 20-30 minutes and is just as expected Comfort: I like the lumbar support. For the average skinny man, comfort and size are good. The only quirk for me is that I wanted the armrests to move back a few inches when they are up as they get in the way of my shoulders a bit, as does the wide backrest when I move back to another table must grab. But I don't see that as a disadvantage, since some people like a wider back. Aesthetics: what you see is what you get. I like the style. Processing quality: I deducted 1 star here. I put it together today and what I thought was a scratch turned out to be a manufacturing or traffic accident. The left arm of the chair has a 1 inch tear that at one point sucked out a piece of fiberglass like material. and provided the build quality matches the price. With a crack, the chair looks cheap. I will update this review later if/when I disagree after using the chair for a long time. Conversely, as someone mentioned, the upper arms aren't aluminum, they appear to be hard plastic with a fibrous underlayer from what I can tell from the tear. The base of the arms isn't metal, but the upper arms are definitely not apart of A tear on the armrest I would give this chair 4.5 stars overall for its price. I would also recommend applying a good leather/vinyl conditioner to the seat and armrests before assembly for moisture resistance and from time to time to pre-treat it from drying out and cracking like leather and vinyl might match. Edit: It's December now and I just downgraded it to 3 stars. The cushioning isn't soft anymore and I still want my arms to flap down instead of up because I often put my hands on my feet and my arms just press against my arms so my movements are restricted. For the price I was kinda lucky to have my cheap $50 Walmart chair that lasted and lasted 3 years.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Sad packaging
