Review on πŸ”Œ Enhanced KEYESTUDIO Microbit Sensor Breakout Board V2: I2C SPI, micro USB for BBC Micro:bit by Tim Kallimanis

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works well but there are some peculiarities

1) Silk screen dot marks are inconsistent in alignment. When the Microbit is oriented up, the Keyestudio logo is vertical, but most of the pin labels are rotated 90 degrees, and the labels on the IIC and SPI sections are reversed. This means that the best orientation is to place the Microbit connector at the bottom, but then everything that appears on the Microbit will be upside down. 2) All power pins V1 and V2 need an external power supply for this board, they do NOT draw power from the Microbit. If this board is not powered, but a USB cable is connected to the Microbit, then the power LED on this board will be lit. Since the USB connector on this board cannot transfer data to the Microbit USB connector, you may need to connect two USB cables. One to microbit for data and one to this board for power. Neither of these issues are deal killers, but they are somewhat annoying. Also, it really needs rubber feet as the keg connector's cables are longer than any other, which is why it doesn't lay flat on the table.

Pros
  • The solder is very clean, everything is well aligned, all the boards are well packed, after checking the functionality, voltage, current, packed in a nice cardboard box. Complies with FCC and CE standards: Made with environmentally friendly components and materials.
Cons
