Review on MICHELIN Primacy 4 225/60 R17 99V summer by Wiktor Winiewski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The price/quality ratio is great, I will buy again.

In the past, there existed a MICHELIN Primacy HP and between 80,000 and 85,000 kilometers were skated on it. Right now I'm riding a Michelin Primacy 4, so to speak. In general, I have positive feelings towards the rubber. I conducted a particular test of it on the track that runs beside the Hong Kong Ring Road, and not only does it hold flawlessly, but it also performs exceptionally well when the asphalt is wet. I haven't rode wet gr yet, but I think it will be like "cow on ice" on Primacy HP. The braking is so good that it doesn't slide at all, and it gives the impression that the car is just biting into the road; in fact, I'm nervous that someone will drive into it now that it's so good. You can hear the rubber, but it doesn't create a particularly loud noise at all. I can't tell for sure that it is completely silent because of the noise it makes. Pebbles from the road catch nicely; as you drive over the pebbles, it feels as though the spikes fly out of the winter tires, and everything has to do with it all at once :-) I haven't had to drive in the heat yet, so I can't comment on how the rubber performs in that environment. In my opinion, the Primacy 4 is an excellent tire to have for driving in the city as well as on the highway. I sincerely hope that it will be a departure from its predecessor Primacy HP in no small way.

Pros
  • Rutting holds up quite well, and asphalt performs exceptionally well even on wet roads. The stopping power is excellent.
Cons
  • rubber that is audible to some degree but does not provide a significant amount of background noise overall. Pebbles from the road catch nicely; as you drive over the pebbles, it feels as though the spikes fly out of the winter tires, and everything has to do with it all at once :-)
