I have a C43 AMG and I live in such a state that I absolutely need a front fairing and I refuse to drill holes in the bumper. I bought this holder after reading some bad reviews, I just didn't want to pay $100 for something that felt like a few bucks for tin. I try to reduce vibration and protect my new records. I drive 300 miles a week on the freeway into town so I was worried it might come loose due to bad reviews. I threw a wrench and screwdriver in the glove box in case I needed to perform emergency surgery and I used the stainless steel screws and lock washers I already had as I don't trust any of the screws that come in those kits. For several weeks/months I have been checking the retainer every morning when I leave and in the evening when I come back and expect it to be loose and not move at all. I put blue thread lock on the main shaft and the bolt holding the plate to the shaft and it didn't move at all. I fully expected him to loosen up due to the discomfort and at least some sort of shift. Nothing happened, he's rock hard. I don't know what all these other people are doing wrong, but just use some thread lock and tighten it properly and I can't imagine you'll have any problems. If that changes, I'll be happy to update.
