I purchased this item to cut felt circles out of coasters. While it's sharp and capable of cutting, it wobbles too much in the center to give you anything consistent. I spent a lot of time getting this to work. You have to press the middle button, which for some strange reason should swing. This means that every time you turn the device, the cuts are shifted, resulting in an uneven cut. If you try to make an exact circle in the other almost every time it is destroyed. It also took a lot of back and forth motion to cut through the felt. I tried it on paper and fabric and although it worked better it still had the same problem. I've looked at other products in this line and others have had the option of having a mid point as well as this flat point but this one doesn't have it. The midpoint can help stabilize it better. Unfortunately it took too long to find the best product and now I've lost that money. I have found the Entweg Circle Cutter, an adjustable rotary compass cutting tool for paper, cardboard, rubber, leather, a craft tool that works much better, faster and costs less. half of what I paid for it. The whole thing cost me money, especially since it ruined about 8 coasters I worked on with Center Swing.
