I have a Turtle Beach PX4 and I have to say they sound worse than these. I don't know how this headset gets so many rave reviews. I was very excited when I received it. Setup was incredibly easy (insert USB stick, turn on, play). Of course I changed the settings (had to change the audio going to the headset, like all audio, not just the chat audio). It just wasn't as loud as the PX4, which was surprising. On my PX4, the game volume is always turned down by about 60%, but the Platinum can't reach that volume even at full volume. When I first set it up there were periods where it would disconnect for about 10 seconds and try to reconnect to the PS4. This also happened a few times when I was in a group chat, so I had to ask them to repeat what they were saying. I chalked it up to maybe I was hacked or didn't have enough power. So I tried to use it again and again. The shutdown was less frequent, but it still happened. The PX4 has never been shut down in all the years I've owned it. The only time was when he just completely lost his strength. Let's say I could handle a deadpan sound (not just quiet, but lower quality compared to the PX4) and mute it. The worst is the microphone. People have complained about that hiss in the background. As soon as I switched to PX4 the hiss was gone. I had too many flaws to keep this headset despite the retail price of $126. Don't think a microphone is that good if it's not in front of your mouth. I want to be able to speak quietly whenever I want and people can only hear my voice and not everything else in the background because I have to turn up the mic volume.
