I can't see the pattern under the grille

My 4 year old daughter loves to help her father fix/build around the house so is no stranger to power drills and using screwdrivers/wrenches. We thought this set would suit her and be a safer toy drill option than a real one. She likes it a lot but prefers to create her own patterns rather than following the ones provided as the pattern is barely visible under the mesh. The drill itself is pretty weak / wasn't as strong as we expected. The kit itself is very good though - quality parts and it doesn't look or feel cheap.
