Review on Black Finish Yamaha NS-6490 Pair of 3-Way Bookshelf Speakers by Rimba
A really necessary purchase, glad I found this product.
It's amazing how Yamaha managed to make such a cheap and good sounding speaker system. I have several pairs of different two-way bookshelf speakers with a phase inverter, and in comparison with them, this three-way speaker sounds somehow wider, yielding a little on the bottoms, or maybe, on the contrary, its bass is closer to a natural sound. In general, this acoustics is from a series of cheap and cheerful.
- Probably the best acoustics in terms of price - sound quality. Good sensitivity, three bands, 8 ohms, good bass for a closed box, blues and similar music. styles . Not a bad design, although I prefer the black color of the speakers, the size of the case also suits.
- The mids are a bit dominant and the treble is dull, but this can easily be fixed by adding a 3 ohm resistor to the midrange and replacing the treble capacitor with a 2.2uF film capacitor. After that, the sound became more to my taste. The power of this acoustics is clearly overstated according to the passport, more than 30 watts should not be offered to it.
