I've been waiting to buy this WiFi scene controller since it was announced at CES 2019. When I found out it was available to order in January 2020, I quickly ordered two complete Smart setup switches at my house. I have experience with older Lutron RadioRA switches and dimmers and their 5 button step control. I was hoping for a similar experience. Overall this 8 button scene controller is very handy and is currently the only WiFi scene controller on the market so I'm glad it's available. However, it falls short in a few areas: (1) No built-in generic labels or mail order button engraving options. It's up to you to solve the key labeling problem yourself if the solution comes from the manufacturer. PS I used Avery Surface Safe ID permanent labels and cut them to fit each button. (2) Inconsistent button operation. This scene controller has 7 scene buttons and 1 toggle button. Unfortunately, they work differently, and it's a problem teaching other family members how to use scene controls, especially since all the buttons look the same. The scene buttons are pressed once to turn on and double-clicked to turn off, but the shift key is only pressed once to turn off. Double tap turns it back on. This is very confusing to other household members and guests, and the need to constantly explain it becomes tiresome. I hope that in a future firmware update it will be possible to change the function of the switch button to work the same as the scene buttons. (3) It is preferable to use a 5-button scene controller. This would create a column of 5 buttons so they can be labeled in a larger, more legible font. I would recommend this WiFi scene controller mainly because it is the only device of its kind on the market, but I would replace it when an improved model comes out. becomes available.
