They are much more comfortable and fit better than the old school ones (with spiked soles that always stretch too quickly and never fit right). It's literally almost like socks in the water but you don't go through shells/rocks/points. I like the thinner sole, it's almost like I'm hugging my feet the entire time I walk. In fact, my anxious teen almost approves (anyone with a teenage girl knows how big it is. She hates wearing them, so the near-approval is shocking).
